Striving to build upon hard won 2010 England/Wales walk experience, I am spending all the time necessary to ensure that the wheels receive the attention and protection they need from roadside hazards like thorns, shards of glass from broken beer bottles etc. Have installed plastic 'Zefal' brand tire casing protective liner & at $29, not cheap. Tried unsuccessfully to force a sharp needle through the green plastic strip. If this saves sitting in pouring rain during the walk just once, patching a flat tire, it will be money well spent.
